Saucy dunked chicken wings

These dunked chicken wings are such a treat to make. Easy, super quick to make, inexpensive and who doesn't love sweet sticky finger food?

Ingredients (12)

For the chicken wings
1 l oil
2 cup flour
2 cup panko breadcrumbs
salt and black pepper — to season
500 g chicken wings — cut in halves
3 eggs
For the sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 cup chutney
1/2 cup thick soy sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp dried chilli flakes

Method:

To make the wings

Heat oil in a large pan.

Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.

Place breadcrumbs into a ziplock.

Beat eggs in a bowl.

Drench the chicken into the flour mixture, then into the eggs and then into the breadcrumbs.

Shake the ziplock until well coated.

Once the oil is hot, deep fry until cooked through, crisp and golden brown.

Place on kitchen paper towel to absorb oil and to cool slightly.

To make the sauce

In a pot on the stove, boil water and add sugar. Stir until dissolved.

Add chutney, oil, soy sauce and chilli Flakes. Stir and cook until thickens and the mixture reduces.

Add some of the sauce to the fried chicken mix well to ensure an even coating. Serve with the leftover sauce and enjoy.
