Creamy basil mushrooms

Ingredients (11)

2 tbsp butter
1 small onion
2 garlic cloves — minced
250 g mushrooms — white or brown, sliced
1/2 tsp dried Italian herbs
1/3 cup fresh basil
1/3 cup fresh cream
salt
pepper
1 tbsp parmesan cheese — grated
1 tbsp lemon juice

Method:

Heat the butter in a large pan. Add the onion and sauté until translucent. Add the garlic and fry for one minute.
Add the mushrooms, Italian herbs and basil. Fry until the mushrooms are slightly caramelised.
Add the cream. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for one minute.
Add the Parmesan and drizzle the lemon juice over.
Serve hot, garnished with more fresh basil and Parmesan.

Notes

  1. This recipe can be served with pasta.
  2. If it’s for a family, you can double the recipe.
  3. It will be great with any protein too.
  4. You can adjust the quantity of the lemon juice according to your taste.
