Baby-friendly oatmeal sweetened with banana for some fruity flare and flavoured with vanilla and cinnamon for a wholesome start to the day.

Ingredients (6)

1/2 cup almond milk — or rice milk or cow's milk
4 tsp ground oats
1-2 slices banana — mashed
1 splash vanilla extract
1 tsp nut butter — opitonal
1 pinch ground cinnamon

Method:

Mix the milk and oats together.

Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir and microwave for another 30 seconds.

Mix in the mashed banana, vanilla extract, and the nut butter and cinnamon, if using.

Cool for a few minutes, remembering that it thickens as it cools, then serve.

This classic oatmeal breakfast can be easily adjusted if necessary. Use rice milk, gluten-free oats and coconut fat (oil).
