|410 g||garlic-flavoured tomatoes — chopped|
|50 g||tomato paste|
|1||fresh chillies — chopped|
|30 ml||brown sugar|
|salt and freshly ground black pepper|

1 In a small pot, simmer the tomatoes, tomato paste, chilli (if using) and sugar until thickened.
Season with salt and pepper.
Set aside to cool.
