Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray a 23 x 11 cm loaf tin with non-stick spray.
Mix the bran flakes, fruitcake mix and milk. Leave for a few hours or preferably overnight so the milk can be absorbed.
Sift the cake flour and baking powder together and add the sugar. Add to the fruitcake mix and stir well.
Turn into the loaf tin and bake for 45 minutes or until done. The loaf is done when a testing skewer comes out clean when inserted into the centre of the loaf. Cool slightly and turn out onto a wire rack to cool. Serve with butter.
Makes a small loaf.
