Grease and line a baking tray.
Cream the butter and the white and brown sugar.
Add the eggs and vanilla essence, and beat until light and fluffy.
Sift flour over the butter mixture and fold in.
Add the chocolate chips and mix well to combine.
Place spoonfuls on the prepared baking tray and bake in a preheated 180 °C oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
