Fish stroganoff

Ingredients

    kg
    Kingklip fillets - skinned and deboned
  • juice of ½ a lemon
  • 1
    onion - finely chopped
  • 50
    ml
    butter - for frying
  • Salt and pepper
  • 200
    g
    mushrooms - sliced
  • 30
    g
    flour
  • 2
    ml
    Worcester sauce
  • 75
    ml
    dry white wine
  • 250
    ml
    fresh cream
 

Method

Preheat oven to 180ºC.

Cut the prepared fish fillets in 2.5cm slices and sprinkle with lemon juice.

Sauté the onion in butter and set aside.

Roll the fish pieces in flour and fry in warm butter until golden brown.

Place the fish, mushrooms, onions and seasoning in an ovenproof dish.

Mix the Worcester sauce, white wine and cream and allow to simmer for 2 minutes.

Pour the sauce over the ingredients in the ovenproof dish and bake for 20 minutes.

Serve with fresh olives and lemon wedges.
