Chicken and orange casserole.



  • 200
  • 1 large orange
  • 1 chicken/4-6 chicken portions
  • seasoning
  • 50
    plain flour
  • 200
    streaky bacon
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1
  • 500
    chicken stock
  • 1 large onion
  • salt and pepper to taste


Heat oil and fry chicken pieces until brown.Remove from heat. Fry chopped onion,crushed garlic, grated orange zest and cut up bacon pieces for 2-3 minutes. Add flour and mix until thick,cook for 1 minute. Gradually add stock, stirring all the time to form a sauce. Add the milk. Return the chicken to the pan with the sauce and put in oven for 35-45 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius. Ten minutes before the end of cooking, add the squeezed orange juice and season to taste.
