Ingredients (11)

50 ml golden syrup
125 g butter — melted
30 ml milk
1 eggs
750 ml flour — cake
3 ml salt
5 ml Bicarbonate of soda
15 ml ginger — ground
125 ml brown sugar
sweets — decration
royal icing

Method:

Preheat oven t0 180 C and grease a large baking sheet. Beat together the syrup, butter, milk and egg.Sift together dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl, add the egg mixture and mix to form smooth dough. Cover dough and refrigerate until firm. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 2mm and cut out walls and roofs. Arrange on prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15 min or until brown. Cool on baking sheet before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Pipe thick line of icing along sides of pieces and press the iced sides together. Decorate with sweets.
