fish cakes

  • 450g fish steaks
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and boiled
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • Salt and blackpepper to taste
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh white breadcrumbs
  • Flour, for shaping
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup FloraYo-naise
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 1T capers
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard


Flake the fish, using a fork. Mash the potatoes and add to the fish.
Add chives, seasoning, breadcrumbs and eggs and blend together well.
2. Shape the mixture into cakes about 2,5cm thick.
3. Heat oil in a large frying pan. Fry the fish cakes overamedium heat
for about5minutes on each side, or until crisp and golden-brown.
4. For tartare sauce: Mix all the ingredients together.
Serve with fish cakes.
