Tomato bread bites

    bag of tomatoes, halved lengthways
  • olive oil
  • 5
    dried basil
  • 5
    dried origanum
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 125
    olive oil
  • 10
    crushed garlic
  • 1
    French loaf, sliced

Place the tomatoes in a single layer in a baking tin. Brush with olive oil. Bake in preheated oven for 2 hours. Remove from the oven and brush again with olive oil and sprinkle with herbs and seasoning. Combine olive oil and garlic and brush onto the bread slices. Toast in preheated oven until golden brown. TO SERVE: Top each slice of toasted bread with a tomato half and garnish with fresh herbs. Serves: 6 as a snack or starter Oven temperature: 120 ºC
