Ingredients (14)

125.00 g bacon
oil
1.00 onion — finely chopped
800.00 g beef mince
400.00 g tomatoes — whole, finely chopped
10.00 ml Worcestershire sauce
5.00 ml dried basil — or fresh, chopped
5.00 ml fresh rosemary
25.00 ml chutney
250.00 ml stock — meat
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
10.00 ml cornflour
10.00 ml gravy powder
25.00 ml water — cold

Method:

Fry the bacon until done. Chop finely and set aside. Pour a little oil in a pan and fry the onion until tender and translucent.
Add the mince and fry until done. Return the bacon to the pan and add the tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, herbs, chutney and stock. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until thick. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Blend the cornflour, gravy powder and water to form a smooth paste. Add to the meat mixture and simmer until it thickens slightly.
Serve with pasta and a salad.
