Ingredients (9)

20.00 ml butter
1.00 onion — sliced
15.00 ml flour
250.00 ml stock — beef
125.00 ml wine — red
5.00 ml Worcestershire sauce
2.00 ml fresh ginger — grated
1.00 pepper — red or green, sliced
12.00 beef — minute steaks

Method:

Heat butter in a saucepan and sauté onion until soft. Stir in flour. Add stock gradually, stirring continuously. Add red wine, Worcestershire sauce, ginger and red pepper and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add minute steaks and continue to simmer for 3-5 minutes, Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper and serve with mashed or baked potato. Serves 4.
