Pesto for pasta

Ingredients

  • 4
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 100
    g
    pinenuts
  • salt
  • 100
    g
    basil including stems, roughly chopped
  • 60
    g
    Pecorino, Parmigiano or Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 300
    ml
    light olive oil
 

Method

 
Pound or process the garlic and pinenuts with a little salt. Add the basil leaves, a few at a time. Add the cheese and pulse in the food processor once. Gradually beat in the olive oil.
