Noodles with calamari

    calamari tubes, cleaned

    instant noodles

    garlic flakes, soaked in boiling water

    medium-sized onions, quartered

    soy sauce

Wash calamari under cold running water, pat dry, and cut the tubes open, lengthwise, into quarters. Score the flesh crosswise, then cut into strips about 5 cm long and 2 cm wide. Wash the broccoli and break into florets. Peel the stalks and slice thinly, discarding any woody bits. Prepare the instant noodles according to packet instructions. Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan. Stir-fry the onions and calamari over a high heat for about 1 minute. Add the broccoli, and continue to stir-fry for about 2 minutes. Add the noodles, soy sauce, and sugar, and stir until thoroughly heated through.
