Meaty sauce

    onions, chopped

    cloves garlic, crushed

    lean beef mince
  • 410
    tomato purée
  • 2
    sprigs rosemary
  • 100
    red wine (or beef stock)
  • seasoning to taste
  • cooked fusilli pasta
  • 150
    mature Cheddar, grated


30 minutes
1. Heat oil and sauté onion and garlic until soft. 2. Add mince and stir over high heat until browned. 3. Add tomato purée, rosemary, red wine or beef stock and seasoning to taste, then let the sauce simmer gently in the uncovered pot for 15 minutes. 4. Combine with cooked fusilli pasta and sprinkle with cheese.
