Garlic potatoes

  • 6
    potatoes, peeled and sliced fairly thickly
  • 3
    cloves garlic, cleaned and finely chopped (use more if desired)
  • salt
  • 250
    fresh cream
  • 50
    grated Cheddar cheese


Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Boil the potatoes in water until they're half cooked. Arrange the potato slices in a greased ovenproof dish and sprinkle the chopped garlic on top. Season with salt. Pour the cream over the dish, cover with aluminium foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and sprinkle the cheese on top. Return to the oven and bake until the cheese has melted.
