  • 240
    g
    white sugar
  • 300
    ml
    water
  • 500
    ml
    brandy
  • 10
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 1
    ml
    almond essence
  • 20
    ml
    cocoa, dissolved in a little boiling water
 

Method

 
Place the white sugar and water in a saucepan and heat, stirring continuously until all the sugar has dissolved. Boil for about six minutes until the mixture forms a thick syrup. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a clean jar or bottle, screw on the lid and keep in a dark place for about two weeks before using. Makes about 750 ml liqueur.
