Chocolate brownies with liquorice sauce

Ingredients (7)

brownies: dark chocolate, chopped
250.00 g butter
5.00 eggs
625.00 ml sugar
7.00 ml vanilla — essence
350.00 ml flour — cake
325.00 ml pecan nuts — coarsely chopped
sauce: coca-cola
3.00 liquorice — finely chopped

Method:

Brownies: Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a 32 x 22 cm cake tin.
Melt the chocolate and butter over hot water.
Cream together the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy and add the vanilla essence.
Stir the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until well blended.
Fold in the flour and 250 ml of the nuts.
Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and sprinkle the remaining nuts on top.
Bake for about 30 minutes or until done.
Cut into 12 squares.

Sauce: Stirring continuously, heat the Coca-Cola and liquorice until the liquorice has melted and the sauce has thickened.
Serve the brownies with the sauce and vanilla ice cream.
