Chicken kisinono

  • 8
    chicken breasts, with skin and bone
  • salt and milled pepper
  • 1
    large onion, sliced
  • 3
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 60
    mango or peach chutney
  • 40
    tomato sauce
  • 15
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 10
    curry powder
  • 7
    prepared French mustard
  • dash cayenne pepper


Season chicken well and place in a oiled casserole dish. Cover with onion slices and sprinkle garlic over. Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over chicken. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 180 ºC oven for 20 minutes. Dot each breast with 2-5 ml (1/2-1 tsp) butter and bake for a further 20 minutes. Dot with same quantity of butter, cover, reduce heat to 120 ºC and bake for a further 10 minutes, or until done.
