Cherry shortbread

  • 250
    soft butter
  • 60
    castor sugar
  • 2
    vanilla essence
  • 30
    chopped glacé cherries
  • 30
    chopped milk chocolate
  • 450
    cake flour
  • pinch salt


20 minutes per batch
Preheat the oven to 190 °C.
Grease a few baking sheets.
Cream teh butter and castor sugar together.Sift the cake flour and salt on top and mix well.
Roll the mixture into walnut- sized balls and arrange them on the prepared baking sheets, flattening them slightly with a fork.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until done and golden brown.
Cool on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container.
