Bread rolls

  • cheese, grated (optional)
  • olives, stoned and chopped (optional)
  • bread dough of your choice
  • egg or milk for brushing

Prepare bread dough of your choice following recipe for basic white bread or variations of basic white bread. After first rising, knead dough for 2 minutes. Divide dough into small balls and place on a greased baking tray, leaving space between the balls. Allow to rise until double in size. Brush with egg or milk and bake at 220 ºC for 10-15 minutes. For twisted rolls, roll dough into thin sausage shapes, place 2 side by side, press the ends together at the top, then twist the shapes together and press the ends together at the bottom. Sprinkle with cheese, if desired, or knead olives into the dough, before twisting, to make olive rolls. Place on a baking tray and allow to rise until double in size before baking.
