250.00 g mince — lean pork
250.00 g beef mince — lean
1.00 onion — medium, chopped
1.00 bread — thick slices
125.00 ml milk
5.00 ml salt
freshly ground black pepper — to taste

Method:

Mix ingredients together lightly with a fork. Shape into patties. Grill over the coals, under the oven element or in a riffle pan until the meat is cooked.
Serve hamburgers on wholewheat, brown or white bread rolls. Platters piled with a variety of fresh salad ingredients offer each guest the opportunity to indulge in his or her personal preferences – making their own ‘designer’ burgers.
Some suggested salad ingredients: Leaf or butter lettuce, tomatoes, pineapple slices, onion rings (fresh or fried), pickles, fresh cucumber slices, radishes or bean sprouts.
