Sweet and Sour Casserole



 
 

Ingredients

 
  • 1.5
    kg
    pork goulash
  • 250
    g
    streaky bacon
  • 1
    chopped onion
  • 175
    g
    butter

Method

 
Beat an egg and roll pork in flour. Fry bacon in the butter. Remove from pan and add onion and fry till soft. Add pork and fry till browned. Return bacon to pot and add stock and simmer for 5 minutes till all juices are blended. Put into a casserole dish and stir in 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 dessertspoon cocoa, 1 cup red wine or vinegar, 1 tablespoon soya sauce, 1 cup pineapple chunks, 1 teaspoon ginger and salt and pepper. Cover and place in preheated oven 180, and leave for half an hour. Take off lid and bake for a further 20 minutes. Serve with veg and rice.
