Stuffed strawberries

    blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 60
    g
    pecan nuts, coarsely chopped
  • 100
    ml
    port
  • 1
    cinnamon stick
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • brown sugar to taste
  • 1
    kg
    fresh strawberries, rinsed
 

Method

 
Place the blueberries, pecan nuts, port, cinnamon stick, black pepper and brown sugar in a saucepan and simmer over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool and chill in the fridge. Remove the cinnamon stick. Hull the strawberries and carefully hollow them out with a small knife. Spoon a little of the filling into each strawberry. Serve chilled.
