Sticky chicken wings and bacon kebabs

    chicken wings, cleaned and patted dry
  • 12
    rashers bacon, rind removed and rolled up
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • BASTING SAUCE
  • 60
    ml
    concentrated apple juice (Fortris)
  • 30
    ml
    maple syrup
  • 1
    ml
    ground cinnamon
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
 

Method

 
Make three incisions in each chicken wing and thread onto metal meat skewers, alternating with the bacon rolls. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Mix all the ingredients for the basting sauce and brush the kebabs with the mixture. Cover and leave in a cool place for 1 hour. Switch on the oven grill and arrange the kebabs on the rack of an oven pan. Grill for about 15 minutes, turning and basting occasionally. Serves 4-6 as snacks.
