Spaghetti with tuna and tomato sauce

    small onion, chopped

    clove garlic, crushed
  • 1
    green pepper, diced
  • 2
    ripe tomatoes, skinned and chopped

    tuna chunks, drained
  • 10
    ml
    chopped fresh origanum
  • 200
    ml
    chicken stock
  • 3
    ml
    fresh lemon nice
  • 50
    ml
    dry white wine (optional)
  • 65
    ml
    chutney
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 250
    g
    spaghetti or pasta of your choice
 

Method

 
Melt the butter and sauté; the onion, garlic and green pepper until soft and flavoursome. Add the tomatoes, tuna, origanum, stock, lemon juice, wine and chutney. Season generously, reduce the heat and simmer slowly for 20 minutes. Cook the spaghetti in rapidly boiling salted water until done, drain and mix with the hot tuna sauce.
