    onion, chopped

    sticks celery, chopped

    green pepper, chopped
  • 1
    clove garlic, crushed

    flour
  • 375
    ml
    chicken stock
  • 5
    ml
    chopped fresh thyme
  • 2
    ml
    chopped fresh basil
  • 2
    bay leaves
  • 205

    tomato purée
  • 5
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 5
    ml
    paprika
  • 2
    thin lemon slices
  • 1
    bunch spring onions, chopped
  • 125
    ml
    chopped fresh parsley
  • American rice, cooked
 

Method

 
1. Melt butter and sauté shrimps for 2 to 3 minutes, then remove from pan. 2. Add onion, celery, green pepper and garlic. Sauté until transparent. 3. Add flour to pan and stir over medium heat until lightly browned. 4. Add stock, thyme, basil, bay leaves, tomato purée, brown sugar, paprika and lemon slices. Simmer for 15 minutes. 5. Add spring onion, parsley and shrimps during the last 5 minutes of cooking. Serve with rice.
