    butter, melted

    poppy seeds

    toasted almonds, chopped

    chilli cashew nuts, chopped
  • 45

    chopped fresh herbs
 

Method

 
1. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl. Add sugar, salt and yeast. Mix to combine. Stir in the water and oil. Turn out on a floured surface and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Place in oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and leave to rise to double the size. 2. Punch dough down and divide into 12 equal balls. Leave to rest under plastic for 5 minutes. Roll out to 23 cm x 5 cm strips. Dip both sides of the dough in melted butter. Dip three strips into each of the fillings. Roll up into a spiral and place in a greased 23 cm diameter cake tin. Cover with plastic wrap and leave to rise to double its volume. 3. Drizzle with remaining butter and bake in preheated 200 ºC oven for 25 minutes. Test to see if cooked through. Note: baked bread sounds hollow when tapped underneath. When baked, turn out onto cooling rack. Makes 12
