Ingredients (7)

15.00 ml vinegar
375.00 ml milk
0.00 eggs — extra-large, whisked
300.00 g margarine — melted
1.00 kg flour — self-raising
250.00 ml sugar — optional
5.00 ml salt

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF).
Grease an oven pan with margarine. Mix the vinegar, milk and egg together.
Add melted margarine.
Mix all the dry ingredients and add the margarine mixture to form a soft dough.
Spoon it into the prepared pan.
Spread evenly, mark off fingers and bake for about 40 minutes or until a testing skewer comes out clean.
Cool for about 10 minutes in the pan, turn out and cool a little longer before breaking into fingers.
Arrange on baking sheets and dry at 100 ºC (200 ºF).

Makes about 25 pieces.
