Satay buffalo wings

Ingredients

  • 400
    g
    chicken wings
  • 5
    ml
    salt to taste
  • 10
    ml
    chilli flakes
  • 180
    ml
    sweet chilli sauce
  • 125
    ml
    water
  • 30
    ml
    brown sugar
  • 45
    ml
    honey
  • 30
    ml
    soy sauce
  • 15
    ml
    grated onion
  • 15
    ml
    crushed garlic
 

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C.
Rinse wings and pat dry with a paper towel.
Cut off each wing tip and discard.
Cut through the next joint to make two pieces.
Season the wings with salt and chilli flakes.
In a bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients and add the wings.
Cover and marinate for 10 minutes.
Arrange wings on a tray and bake for 15 minutes.
Turn wings and brush with more marinade, then bake for another 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, place the remaining marinade in a pot and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from stove and cool.
Remove wings from oven and brush with heated marinade to intensify the flavour.
Arrange and serve with extra sweet chilli sauce and a salad.
