Rich chocolate roll

    Nestlé condensed milk

    dark chocolate, grated
  • 45
    ml
    butter
  • 500
    g
    sponge cake, crumbled
  • 100
    g
    glacé cherries, quartered
  • 100
    g
    hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 125
    g
    stoned dates, chopped
 

Method

 
Tear a 30 cm piece of wax paper off the roll and set aside. Melt the condensed milk, chocolate and butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring continuously. Remove from the heat. Mix the crumbled cake, condensed milk mixture, cherries, nuts and dates until well blended. Spoon the mixture along the length of the wax paper and shape into a roll. Wrap the roll in the wax paper and chill overnight. Slice thinly and serve the chocolate roll cold with custard. Makes two medium rolls.
