    uncooked long-grain rice

    milk
  • 250
    ml
    cream
  • 850
    ml
    sugar
  • 2
    ml
    ground nutmeg
  • 2
    cinnamon sticks
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence
  • 80
    ml
    pecans or walnuts, chopped
  • 80
    ml
    sultanas
 

Method

 
Cook rice according to instructions on packet.
Add milk, cream, sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon to the rice. Simmer gently for 30 minutes, until mixture is creamy. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
Stir in vanilla essence and allow to cool. Remove cinnamon sticks. Stir in nuts and sultanas. Serve with cream.
