Method

 
Rice takes as long in the microwave as it does on the stove, but can be served in the same container as it is cooked in - so there is less washing up. And you are not left with burnt rice stuck to the bottom of a pan. Always use hot or boiling water as this reduces cooking time. Always keep the container covered with a lid or clingwrap. Brown rice takes longer to cook than parboiled long-grain rice.
