Puff pastry with waterblomme

  • 400
    g
    frozen puff pastry, defrosted
  • waterblommetjies
  • 1
    onion
  • potatoes
  • lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
 

Method

 
Roll out puff pastry and cut out circles. Cut smaller circles in the centres of half of the rounds and remove inner circle. Paste pastry rings on circles with a little water and bake at 200 ºC till puffed. Scoop out centres. Cook waterblommetjies with onion and potatoes until soft. Season with lemon juice, salt and lots of pepper. Spoon in pastry cases and serve as a starter.
