Ingredients

    g
    meatballs with beans in tomato sauce.
  • 400
    g
    meatballs in gravy
  • 60
    ml
    chopped fresh parsley
  • 250
    ml
    cooked carrot roundels
  • 200
    g
    ready rolled puff pastry
  • 1
    egg, lightly beaten
 

Method

45 minutes
 
Grease a 1,5 litre casserole dish. Mix the parsley and carrots with the meatballs and beans and meatballs in gravy and spoon into the dish. Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface to a round or oval shape slightly bigger than the top of the casserole dish. Cut out a design in the pastry and reserve the trimmings to make a decorative pattern on the top. Lift the pastry and carefully lay it over the dish. Using your fingertips, press down on the pastry evenly all the way around the edge of the dish. Whisk the egg yolk and brush it over the pastry. Bake in a preheated 200 ºC oven for about 45 minutes.
