Ingredients (15)

MEAT
2.00 kg rump steak
salt
freshly ground black pepper
15.00 ml butter
15.00 ml oil
2.00 onion — sliced
2.00 garlic — cloves, crushed
1.00 pepper — red or green, sliced
250.00 g button mushrooms — halved
SAUCE
1.00 stock cube — beef
15.00 ml Tabasco sauce
60.00 ml chutney
250.00 ml cream — fresh
15.00 ml green peppercorns
12.00 ml flour — cake

Method:

Season the beef, cut into 2 cm cubes, to taste with salt and pepper.
Heat the oil and butter in a heavy-based saucepan and brown the meat. Set aside.
Add the onion, garlic and green pepper and sauté. Add the beef cubes and set aside.
Blend all the ingredients for the sauce and bring to the boil, stirring continuously. Boil thoroughly.
Pour over the meat and heat slowly until heated through.
Serve with rice and vegetables.
