    rump of beef
  • salt
  • pepper

    butter
  • 15
    ml
    oil
  • 2
    onions, sliced
  • 2
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1
    red or green pepper, sliced
  • 250
    g
    button mushrooms, halved
  • SAUCE
  • 1
    beef stock cube
  • 15
    ml
    Tabasco sauce
  • 60
    ml
    chutney
  • 250
    ml
    fresh cream
  • 15
    ml
    green peppercorns
  • 12
    ml
    cake flour
 

Method

 
Season the beef, cut into 2 cm cubes, to taste with salt and pepper. Heat the oil and butter in a heavy-based saucepan and brown the meat. Set aside. Add the onion, garlic and green pepper and sauté. Add the beef cubes and set aside. Blend all the ingredients for the sauce and bring to the boil, stirring continuously. Boil thoroughly. Pour over the meat and heat slowly until heated through. Serve with rice and vegetables.
