Parmesan scones

    turmeric
  • pinch salt

    butter, cut into small cubes

    sour cream
  • 30
    ml
    grated Parmesan cheese
 

Method

 
Sift flour, baking powder, turmeric and salt together. Rub in butter and cream until crumbly. Add cheese and about three quarters of the milk and eggs (mixed together) to form a soft dough, adding extra milk if necessary. Turn out onto a well-floured board and pat out to about 1,5 cm thick. Cut out rounds with a scone cutter. Brush tops with a little of the remaining egg and milk mixture. Place on an oiled baking sheet and bake at 200 ºC for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden. TOTAL KILOJOULE COUNT: 6 045 kJ (1 445 Cal). A portion: 505 kJ (120 Cal).
