Method

Heat the pan with a little oil until hot. Wipe the pan and sauté the onion and garlic (or use 2 ml garlic flakes) until soft. Add the tomatoes and simmer until a purée is formed. Season with the origanum, sandwich spread and salt and pepper to taste. Remove from the pan. Wipe the pan clean. Heat the pan with a little oil until hot. Wipe the pan, removing most of the oil. Sift self-raising flour and seasonings together. Whisk egg and milk together and add to the dry ingredients. Mix until well blended and spread evenly over the surface of the pan. Heat on the stove plate until cooked and brown underneath, turn the crust and heat the other side until done. Meanwhile spread the tomato and onion mix over the crust and sprinkle with the mushrooms, olives and cheese. Unscrew the wooden handle of the pan and place the pizza under the oven grill for a few minutes until the cheese has melted. Serve hot. Serves 4.
