Painted chocolate cake

    butter
  • 200

    dark chocolate
  • 375
    ml
    sugar
  • 4
    eggs
  • 250
    ml
    flour
  • 1
    ml
    baking powder
  • 30
    ml
    cocoa powder
  • CHOCOLATE PAINT
  • 400
    g
    dark chocolate, melted
  • 125
    ml
    cream
  • 60
    ml
    crème de cassis liqueur
 

Method

 
Preheat oven to 180 ºC. Melt butter and chocolate over a low heat. Allow to cool. Place sugar and eggs in a bowl and beat until light and fluffy. Gently mix in the chocolate mixture. Sift in flour, baking powder and cocoa and mix well. Pour mixture into a well-greased 20 cm cake tin. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool and paint. CHOCOLATE PAINT: Mix together all the ingredients and use to top cakes, cookies and ice cream. Serve cake with frozen blackberries.
