Moist chocolate cake with maas

    castor sugar

    self-raising flour

    bicarbonate of soda
  • 5
    ml
    vanilla essence

    castor sugar
  • 50
    g
    cocoa, sifted
  • 250
    ml
    maas or yoghurt
  • TO DECORATE
  • 250
    ml
    cream, whipped
  • cherries
  • chocolate flake
 

Method

 
Preheat oven to 170 ºC. Beat together the butter, castor sugar and eggs. Add the flour, bicarb and vanilla essence and beat. In a bowl, mix together the castor sugar, cocoa and maas. Pour maas mixture into flour mixture and mix slowly a beater until well combined. Pour mixture into two greased and lined 23 cm baking pans. Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes. Sandwich together with whipped cream and top with cream and cherries (or fruit in season) or crumbled flaky chocolate.
