Mince pie with crumb topping

    onion, finely chopped

    cloves garlic, crushed

    baked beans in tomato sauce
  • 15

    Worcestershire sauce
  • few drops Tabasco sauce
  • salt and black pepper
  • TOPPING
  • 50
    g
    butter
  • 100
    g
    cake flour
  • 2
    ml
    basil
  • 80
    g
    Cheddar cheese, grated
 

Method

 
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Grease an ovenproof dish. Sauté the onion and garlic in a little oil in a pan until soft. Add the mince, small quantities at a time, and brown lightly. Add the baked beans and season with the Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and salt and black pepper to taste. Spoon into the prepared dish. For the topping, rub the butter into the cake flour with your fingertips. Add the basil and Cheddar cheese and mix well. Sprinkle over the mince mixture and bake for about 20-30 minutes until the topping is golden brown. Serve with a salad. Serves 4-6.
