Ingredients (9)

1.00 onion — peeled and grated
30.00 ml lemon juice
2.00 fresh chillies — chopped
60.00 ml olive oil — for brushing
2.00 ml black pepper — freshly ground
600.00 g lamb — leg
4.00 tomatoes — quartered
1.00 red pepper
10.00 ml dried oregano

Method:

Mix grated onion, lemon juice, chillies, olive oil and freshly ground black pepper. Pour over meat, cut into 3 cm cubes, cover and marinate in fridge for at least four hours.
Scrape seeds out of tomato quarters.
Thread lamb cubes, tomato quarters and peppers, cut into 3 cm cubes, onto kebab sticks. Brush with oil and grill on the braai or under a medium-hot grill for about five minutes on each side.
Season with salt and sprinkle with the origanum before serving.
