Make your own pizza

    instant yeast
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 170
    warm water
  • 500

    olive oil
  • 400
    tin of tomato puree
  • 400
    grated mozzarella


Preheat oven to 200 C.
Place the flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a bowl and make a well in the centre.
Put the water and olive oil into the centre and swirl around from the centre, outwards. This will collect the flour on the sides and make a smooth dough.
Do not do this too quickly as lumps may form.
Knead for 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
Place in a clean oiled bowl, cover and allow to stand in a warm place for 20 minutes or until double in size.
Take it out and 'knock' back the air.
Basically knead it again for a minute or two.
Divide the dough into 4 balls.
Roll them out on a smooth floured surface.
Spread with tomato puree.
Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Add toppings of your choice.
Bake in the oven until the base is browned, and the cheese is bubbling.
