  • 500
    g
    ox or sheep liver
  • 140
    g
    self-raising flour
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 5
    ml
    mustard powder
  • braaivleis spice to taste
  • oil for frying
 

Method

 
Clean the liver, Remove the membrane and all the tough parts. If using ox liver, soak in lukewarm salted water for 30 minutes. Cut the liver into 1 cm wide strips. Season the self-raising flour with the seasonings and roll the liver strips in the flour mixture. Fry in shallow oil until brown on the outside and done inside. Serve immediately with tomato sauce and vegetables or a salad.
