Chocolate salami

This is a well-loved sweet treat in Portugal. It’s made with chocolate, nuts and biscuits and can be stored in the fridge for up to three weeks.

Ingredients (6)

200 g dark chocolate — coarsely chopped
125 g butter
200 g Marie biscuits — coarsely chopped
100 g nuts of your choice — coarsely chopped
160 ml cocoa powder
icing sugar

Method:

Keep a
roll of cling film handy.

1. Put the
chocolate and butter in a microwave­able glass bowl. Micro­wave for 30 seconds,
stir and microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir again. Repeat until the
chocolate and butter have melted.

2. Add the
biscuits, nuts and cocoa powder and mix well.

3. Spoon ¹⁄3 of the chocolate mixture onto a
sheet of clingfilm. Roll into a salami shape and pinch the ends closed. Repeat
with the rest of the mixture. Chill for 3­4 hours or overnight.

4. Remove
the cling film and roll the chocolate salamis in the icing sugar. Slice and
serve.
