Kourabiedes (Almond biscuits)

    g
    soft butter
  • 150
    g
    castor sugar
  • 2
    large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 15
    ml
    brandy
  • 375
    g
    cake flour
  • 100
    g
    ground almonds
  • 35
    whole cloves
  • icing sugar, to dust
 

Method

10‑15 minutes
 
Beat butter and sugar together until creamy. Add eggs and brandy. Stir in the flour and almonds. Knead to form smooth dough. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Break off pieces of dough and form moon shapes. Place a clove in the middle of each biscuit. Place on a greased baking tray and bake in preheated 180 °C oven for 10 to 15 minutes until just starting to brown. Sprinkle with sieved icing sugar and cool.
