    fresh, ripe figs, washed and halved lengthwise
  • 100
    ml
    soft brown sugar
  • 100
    ml
    honey
  • 10
    ml
    fig jam (optional)
  • 50
    ml
    liqueur - Frangelico or Amaretto
  • 10
    ml
    vanilla essence
 

Method

 
Turn on the oven grill. Heat the sugar, honey and jam over a low heat until the sugar melts. Bring to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the liqueur and essence, Arrange the figs with the cut sides facing up in an oven dish and spoon a little sauce over each halved fig. Grill until the figs brown. Serve the figs lukewarm with the cold cheesecake and a little syrup.
