Grilled bananas with toffee sauce

    bananas
  • SAUCE
  • 50
    ml
    butter
  • 65
    ml
    soft brown sugar
  • 45
    ml
    golden syrup
  • 45
    ml
    thick cream
  • few drops vanilla essence
 

Method

 
Grill the bananas in their skins over the coals or under the oven grill until the skins turn black. Blend all the ingredients for the sauce in a saucepan. Heat until the butter and sugar have melted. Serve with the grilled bananas. The sauce keeps well in the fridge for up to two weeks.
