    g
    self-raising flour
  • 10
    ml
    ground ginger
  • 5
    ml
    bicarbonate of soda
  • 90
    g
    sugar
  • 120
    g
    butter
  • 120
    g
    syrup
 

Method

 
1. Preheat oven to 180 ºC. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut the butter into small blocks and rub into the dry ingredients. 2. Slightly warm the syrup, add it to the flour mixture and mix well to form a stiff paste. 3. Roll into small balls. Space well apart on greased baking sheets and press down with a fork. Sprinkle with a little castor sugar and bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
